The Epic Games logo is one that i know very well being a big fan of the gears of war series. The logo its self is a very simple design with ‘Epic Games’ inside a silver box with an orange triangle. The word ‘Epic’ is a much bigger font size then ‘Games’ to put emphases on that its epic and that’s the key word of there company and i don’t believe the logo would look right if both words had the same size font.
Throughout the gears of war series the logo has stayed the same for the static look but the animations have changed. in the first gears of war it floats in rotating, in the second the outline of the logo appears first on lots of photo’s from the game and then the logo fully appears and on the third its like a heart beating and looks infected with branches forming off it, this is in correspondence with the main story of this chapter which is that the lambent is infecting everything.
Above is the logo used for Bulletstorm and it’s quite different from the one used for gears of war, and this epic games logo is also on the cover of Bulletstorm as well as being the opening sequence when you load up the game. I think whoever designed this logo was told to keep it very simple and not too flashy and just to really emphasize the epic. A little bit after this post i found out from Paul that the orange triangle represents that they own the most powerful engine on the market (UDK) and it glows orange for power.
